Quirky, creative, beautiful & Australian. These are the words I would use to describe these local artists and businesses. Oh, and did I mention they're all owned by women? Hell yeah.
In my last post, I shouted out some local brands for great gift ideas. In this post, I want to share some businesses and artists that I think you should treat yourself with. I have personally purchased from each of these brands and highly recommend all of them. I then realised that all these brands are female owned. How cool! That needed to be championed because I look up to all of these women’s work ethic and think they all make mighty good-looking products. So, let’s get into it!
Furrylittlepeach
I found Sha’an d’Anthes’ (aka furrylittlepeach) work last year and I have been a devout follower ever since. Sha’an is an illustrator, artist and author based in Sydney and makes cheerfully bright and youthful pieces that are filled with so much soul. Her Instagram brings a constant smile to my face and I have purchased two of her Risograph prints (one pictured above) to hang in my office. I would love to meet her one day as she is a major creative inspiration for me.

Leaf Supply
I discovered Leaf Supply a few years ago when I had the pleasure of working with one of the owners, Lauren Camilleri (back when I worked at Country Style magazine). I didn’t know anything about plants but discovered that Lauren had published a book all about them. Since Lauren is an art director, I bought the book at first for design inspiration. Little did I know it would ignite my love and (slight) obsession with lush foliage. Leaf Supply also sell and deliver plants around Sydney and have since published a new book. Plant lovers assemble!

Each to Own
If you love statement earrings, look no further. Each to Own is a Northern New South Wales jewelry design company run by mum and maker, Kristen Devitt. From her off-grid sustainable studio, Kristen makes some of the brightest and happiest earrings you’ll come across. I have been a customer for over 4 years, having purchased numerous pairs from her Esty store. I always get compliments when I wear her designs and I promise you will too!

Public Holiday
My eyes can never go past beautifully made ceramic vessels. Cue Public Holiday, a high-quality, small batch ceramic brand owned by Carly Buteux, focused on making cups, mugs and planters (both standing and hanging). I have purchased a few of her products and they stand out uniquely from other ceramic planters in my collection. Whilst I love the colorful glazes, my eyes are most drawn to the earthy and neutral toned combinations. You will love these ceramics just as much as you love your public holidays!

Bare Body Beauty Co.
Last but certainly not least is Bare Body Beauty Co., a natural beauty company based in Bowral, created by entrepreneur Donna Jennings. I discovered this brand last year when I spent my birthday in the Southern Highlands. I visited their flagship store and was so impressed with the kind service and amazingly scented products. I have since bought handwash, hand creams, solid perfumes, face masks, scrubs and candles but my standout favourite product is the Silk Body Oil in Acai, Goji & Blueberry. I mix this oil into my body lotions and it turns my bathroom into a home spa. The scent is everything and it makes my skin so smooth. All their products are made from natural ingredients, not tested on animals and do not contain palm oil.
