The last products from my makeup splurge are all focused on bringing a stunning glow to the face.

The last three products from my little makeup splurge! There’s a theme here too as all of these products are focused on giving the highpoints of your face some stunning highlights.

Fenty Beauty Killawatt Freestyle Highlighter Duo in Mean Money/Hu$tla Baby and Zoeva 134 Luxe Powder Fusion brush
Mecca Max Holo Jelly Highlighter in Milky Way (left) and Super Moon (right)

FENTY BEAUTY KILLAWATT FREESTYLE HIGHLIGHTER DUO IN MEAN MONEY/HU$TLA BABY ($25 ON SALE)

I bought one of these highlighters when they first came out and fell in love with the formula (I bought Lightning Dust/Fire Crystal – more of a pinky highlight). So when I saw that Sephora had them for 50% off, I had to get another! I picked this shade as it has the most stunning golden reflect to it and would be perfect for any golden, bronzed look. Online it says that this shade is sold out, but in stores, there were heaps! I like these highlighters as they give you the option of having a more wearable highlight (on the left) or something a bit more blinding (on the right).

First Impressions

In love. The colour and pigmentation is just as good as my other highlight from Fenty. I have used the right side alone for a more intense effect and have also mixed both sides together for a more subtle intensity. I love this gold shade as it compliments my skin tone perfectly.

ZOEVA 134 LUXE POWDER FUSION BRUSH ($19)

I heard Jamie Genevieve on YouTube talk about this brush and how it is perfect for applying highlighter to the face. The brush is marketed for the application of blushes, highlighters, contours and eye shadow in the crease but I agree with Jamie in that it’s perfect for highlight. You could definitely use this brush for applying eye shadow (I haven’t tried this yet) but more for days when you want an overall wash of colour on your lid and throughout the crease, since it’s a bit bigger and fluffier.

First Impressions

This is a really nice brush for applying highlight around the highpoints of my face, there’s not too much else to say! I like this brush because it smaller than my other highlighting brushes, which means I can get a more focused and concentrated application. I can also imagine this brush getting fluffier as it gets used and washed, something I think will further help it apply highlighter perfectly.

MECCA MAX HOLO JELLY HIGHLIGHTER IN MILKY WAY AND SUPER MOON (BOTH $11 ON SALE)

To be honest I only bought these products because they were half price and looked super fun. I had been eyeing them off at Mecca a few months ago when they were released but didn’t want to pay $22 for something I knew I wouldn’t use all the time. Since they were on sale, I thought I’d just get them and have some glittery fun! They’re also a jelly/slime texture which is super fun to play with! I couldn’t find these online anymore at Mecca but I bought them in two different Sydney stores, so maybe they’re still in stock there.

First Impressions

I was really surprised and impressed when these applied over my foundation and powders because they didn’t disrupt or lift any of my base products, something which has happened before when using wet products. They also completely dried down which is really nice as they’re not annoying on the face. I will say though that these are definitely not wearable ‘everyday’ highlighters as you can clearly see glitter pieces on your face (something that can emphasis skin texture), but it’s a fun way to play around with makeup and would be perfect for festival or themed make-up looks. They’re a fun product that I’ll whip out every now and them.
